we meet to move together
in a mindful way
Everyone is welcome, all levels and experiences. The intention of every class is to help you find joy and create ease in the body. Sometimes the movement becomes like meditation in motion, sometimes you are being challenged more physically. You are invited to individualise every position and move freely, with attention to your breath.
don’t obsess about alignment, enjoy moving your body and breathe to create expansion
I bring my experience and understanding of anatomy, neuroscience, myo-facia release techniques, somatic and functional movement with Vinyasa flow elements. Classes are designed to activate you physically and boost your energy with movement, breath awareness and relaxation. My teaching style is down-to-earth, informative, creative and playful, I give you options and modifications and I don’t teach poses that contort the body.

Classes with Sylvana have rewarded me with a noticeable difference in my physical ability and they have also been fun and enjoyable. Sylvana has a great way of reminding us that our bodies are constantly changing and are wherever they are at that particular point in time. Throughout classes, she often offers students modifications for poses that might be too challenging or not challenging enough. Her years of experience and knowledge of the body come through during the class with ease. As a student, I often find myself pleasantly surprised by a small detail or a new take on a pose that helps me to grow in awareness. I am grateful Sylvana is my yoga teacher and would readily recommend her classes.

I have been guided through the practice of yoga by Sylvana for many years now. She is always cheerful, positive, and incredibly inventive. Her professionalism, and wide knowledge of the body as well as the art of yoga, makes each class a calm but invigorating adventure. I love practicing with her, and my body and wellbeing are all the better for it.

I have been enjoying classes with Sylvana since 2015 - firstly in my office and then, since 2020, via Zoom. While we haven’t been able to have in person classes since then, I can honestly say that the benefits of taking yoga with Sylvana are as strong as they were pre-pandemic.
I have an aversion to machine or class-based gym activity and would rather get my cardio from walking rather than running - but as I have got older, I recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body and Yoga with Sylvana helps me to do this. The hour or so that I spend with Sylvana every week gives me time to focus mindfully on maintaining and improving my body’s balance, flexibility, and strength. I might step on the mat feeling flat or demotivated, but I always get off with a spring in my step, ready to face the challenges of the rest of my day.
Sylvana tailors each class to the needs of the participants - it is obvious that Sylvana spends a lot of time planning the classes but somehow, she knows when changes should be made to suit our immediate needs, even after a quick conversation at the start of the class. Sylvana remembers if we have any issues (for me, knees, and lumber spine) and will provide instructions on adaptations if needed. I can honestly say that every single class that I have taken with Sylvana has been different and it has been great to witness Sylvana’s own development as she has incorporated her ongoing learning into classes.
I’ve worked with a lot of yoga teachers over the years and can say that Sylvana is one of, if not THE best.

From 2019 I attended Sylvana’s yoga class of roughly ten people three times a week at Golden Lane Leisure Centre near the Barbican in London. The size of the class was limited by the relative smallness of the room.
Then because of Covid the class moved online with Zoom in 2020. I had feared the Zoom class would inevitably become impersonal and stilted, but Sylvana’s direct style and sympathetic manner prevented that. She demonstrates and very clearly explains the postures she wants us to adopt and offers optional variations of greater or lesser difficulty so that no-one feels excessively or insufficiently challenged.
She keeps up a pleasant commentary on the benefits of holding different positions. She varies the routine in each class so that there is no risk of getting bored or feeling the exercise has become mechanical. She has a gentle non-judgmental manner which makes the tone of her instructions easy to understand and follow.
